Veeri, Asiea review Shab-e-Me’raj arrangements in Srinagar | KNO

SRINAGAR, APRIL 08 (KNO) : Minister for Revenue, Hajj and Auqaf and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Social Welfare Asiea Naqash on Sunday reviewed the final arrangements for the ensuing auspicious day of Shab-e-Me’raj here. The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmed Khan, DIG Central Kashmir V K Birdi, Deputy Commissioners of Srinagar, Anantnag, Budgam and Bandipora.

Director Health Kashmir, CE PDD, VC LAWDA, SMC Commissioner, RTO Kashmir, SSP Traffic city, JD F&ES, Director FS&CA Kashmir, SP Hazratbal, administrators of Waqaf board and other officers were present in the meeting.

The meeting was called to finalize the arrangements for Me’raj–un-Nabi (SAW) all over the valley, particularly in Assar-e- Sharief Hazratbal, Jenab Sahib Soura, Assar-e-Sharief Kalashpora, Aham Sharief Bandipora, Kabamarg Anantnag, Peth Makhama Beerwah.

Veeri on the occasion stressed on the officers that large gatherings are expected at these places and it is important to ensure all the facilities for the devotees are put in place well in time. He sought a detailed report from concerned officers regarding the arrangements of security, electricity, water supply, cleanliness, fire service, transport and medical aid.

The Revenue Minister asked the J&K Muslim Waqaf Board to make all the arrangements for the devotees at the shrines under their management. Stressing on the uninterrupted power supply during these days at all shrines/ mosques, besides arrangements for generator sets, Minister called for illumination of all the religious places where a huge gathering is expected.

Regarding the availability of water supply, the PHE department was asked to take adequate measures for uninterrupted water supply and ensure availability of water tankers at these places. The PHE officials informed the meeting that water tankers will be available at Hazratbal, Jinab Sahib Soura and Kalashpora. The Director FS&CA informed the meeting that all the essentials including rice, sugar, kerosene oil, LPG cylinders have been ensured in buffer quantity, besides additional quota of rice and sugar will be provided to the consumers in the areas of these shrines.

To ensure hassle-free movement of traffic and pedestrians, Veeri asked the RTO Kashmir and SSP Srinagar to provide sufficient transport facilities for the devotees, besides ensuring traffic routes are designed for the smooth travel of all devotees. RTO Kashmir SSP Traffic gave a detailed overview of traffic management plan for the day.

The Revenue Minister also directed for setting up a team of all concerned officials for better synergy in executing the arrangements. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Asiea Naqash asked the SMC to carry out cleanliness drive in the vicinity of Hazratbal shrine, besides fixing all the defunct street lights in the Srinagar city. She also asked the SMC officials to install sufficient mobile toilets near Hazratbal shrine in consultation with Waqaf authorities.

The meeting also directed the information and Public relations department to install four public address systems at Hazratbal shrine. Asiea also directed the health department to set up medical aid camps along with adequate doctors and paramedical staff round the clock at all these shrines. DIG central Kashmir also informed the meeting that a security plan has been formulated for the Urs days and police volunteers will be deployed in strength to aid the civil administration in smooth conduct of Urs. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir informed the meeting that Assistant Commissioner (Central) has been designated as a nodal officer at the divisional level for the coordination of all the activities.

He also said that the concerned Deputy Commissioners have been directed to formulate a team of officers of all concerned departments in their respective districts. All the departmental heads unanimously decided to set up the refreshment stalls at the Hazratbal and other shrines where a huge gathering is expected.(KNO)
